Appetizer of cucumbers and egg-meat pancakes

It is of common knowledge, that before any meal, a lot of small bowls with snacks are put on the Korean table. Among them you will necessarily find a couple of kinds of kimchi, fresh and cooked vegetables, tofu and seafood.

The choices are really endless. We have chosen for you two recipes for snacks, which are particularly appreciated by people all around the planet.

List of required products:

For snacks

  • 2 medium long-bodied cucumbers;
  • half a small carrot;
  • half a small onion;
  • 1 clove of garlic;
  • 1 tsp. of sugar;
  • 1 tbsp. vinegar
  • 1 tbsp. of sesame oil;
  • salt;
  • ground hot red pepper;
  • sesame seeds.

For pancakes

  • 4 eggs;
  • 100 grams of lean ground beef;
  • 100 g tofu;
  • half a small onion;
  • half a small carrot;
  • 3-4 tbsp. of flour;
  • 2-3 tbsp. of vegetable oil;

Begin to cook


  1. For snacks from cucumbers cut the cucumbers into large blocks, place in a colander, sprinkle with a small amount of salt, leave for 1 hour, then squeeze lightly.
  2. Grind the carrots, onions and garlic, mix with sugar, hot pepper, vinegar and butter, season with the resulting mixture of cucumbers, let stand for 15-20 minutes. After that serve sprinkled with sesame.
  3. For pancakes, chop the onions and carrots, mix with minced meat, add lightly whisked eggs and flour. Then add the tofu, mashed with fork, stir until it becomes homogeneous.
  4. Wet your hands and create from the resulting mass balls the size of a walnut. Flatten them slightly. Roast on medium heat in preheated oil until crusty condition. As a rule it takes about 3 minutes from each side.
