Chicken Pot Pie is considered to be rather popular now. Why? – The matter is that you can cook it quite easily, even the complete beginner is able to cope with the way of its preparation.
At the same time this food is rather substantial. It can be served both to everyday and festive table.
List of required products:
- per one cup of diced potato, onion, celery and carrot;
- 1/3 cup of margarine. You have to take the melted one;
- 5 cup of flour, all-purpose one suits perfectly one;
- 2 cups of flavored and saturated chicken broth;
- 1 teaspoon of ordinary salt;
- 1/4 teaspoon of pepper;
- 4 cups of cooked and cut chicken;
- 2 pie crusts.
Begin to cook
- First of all preheat your oven up to 200 degrees Celsius. Stew your onion, celery, carrots and potatoes in the melted margarine. For this procedure you won’t need more than 10 minutes.
- Add some flour to the stewed mixture. Stir everything well.
- Cook one more minute, stirring the components constantly.
- Now it is time to combine chicken broth. Gradually stir it into the prepared vegetable mixture.
- Cook over the middle heat. Stir everything constantly until it becomes thickened and bubbly.
- Add salt and pepper and add chicken then. Mix well again.
- Pour the components into shallow casserole dish.
- Bake 30-40 minutes or do it until crust on the top becomes golden.
