Rice Pudding


  • 600 ml milk
  • 40 g short grain rice
  • Few drops vanilla essence
  • 40 g castor sugar
  • Knob of butter

Cooking Process

1. Bring the milk to the boil in a saucepan , then lower the heat , add the rice, vanilla essence and sugar.
2. Simmer gently for a few minutes.
3. Transfer to an ovenproof dish, top with the butter and cook in a moderate oven for 1 ½ hours.
4. Serve either hot or cold.
