Tom yam with shrimps

First of all we would like to tell you that the original recipe of this dish doesn’t contain any coconut milk. But if you are sad without this component, you can pour in a little if it at the very end of cooking. In addition to shrimp you can put any other products to this dish.

List of required products:

  • 5 liters of chicken broth;
  • 16 tiger shrimps;
  • 200 g of mushrooms;
  • 200 g of mini corns;
  • 1-2 tbsp. pastas for Tom Yam;
  • 3 cm fresh root of the galangal;
  • 3 stems of lemongrass;
  • garlic — 3 cloves;
  • 1 hot red chili;
  • 8 leaves of kafir lime;
  • juice from 1 lime;
  • vegetable oil;
  • soy and fish sauces;
  • coriander for decoration.

Begin to cook


  1. Cut lemongrass, garlic and galangal into large parts .Peel the shrimps, remove the legs from the mushrooms and cut the caps into large parts.
  2. On vegetable oil fry pasta Tom Yam for 1 minute. After that add galangal, garlic and lemongrass, pour broth, bring to a boiling condition, cook for 5 minutes, strain.
  3. Add to the broth mushrooms, shrimps, lime leaf, minicom and thin cut chili. Bring to a boiling condition, add fish and soy sauce to taste. Before serving, pour lime juice and add some coriander. Other components, as it has been already mentioned above, should be added. You are free to choose something special.
