The coolest snack from cabbage

This is such a peculiar kind of snack, very pleasing and no fuss with the dough. It turns out as an excellent snack. Crispy cabbage leaves in a flavored batter and a very delicate, piquant filling of cottage cheese. You haven’t tried something like this yet.

List of ingredients:

  • one head of cabbage (2-3 kilograms).

For filling

  • 300 grams of cottage cheese;
  • 50 grams of hard cheese;
  • half a teaspoon of salt;
  • one fresh chicken egg;
  • one tablespoon of butter;
  • one bunch of dill green.

For batter

  • 300 milliliters of boiled chilled water;
  • one fresh chicken egg;
  • a third of a teaspoon of salt;
  • black ground pepper — to taste;
  • 200-250 grams of flour.
  • Optional: vegetable oil for frying.

Cooking process


  1. Prepare cabbage leaves and separate from the stem. Put the stem in the microwave oven, turn on the maximum power for 10 minutes. After that cabbage will be very easy to disassemble on leaves.
  2. Boil the cabbage leaves in boiling water, add salt and leave for 5-7 minutes.
  3. During this time prepare the filling. In the bowl, spread cottage cheese of any fat content and carefully grind it with a fork so that there are no grains. You can also use a blender.
  4. Add one chicken egg, a tablespoon of butter of room temperature. Rub a piece of cheese on a large grater and add to cottage cheese.
  5. Chop bunch of green dill and mix with the curd mass. Add salt and pepper and mix thoroughly. If desired, the garlic that is passed through the press can also be added to the filling.
  6. At the cooled cabbage leaves we cut out a thick vein, distribute the filling, turn off the leaves with the envelope.
  7. When all the blanks are made, cook dessert.
  8. In a bowl, break a chicken egg, add salt and pepper (to taste), cold water (remove it in the refrigerator beforehand). Carefully mix everything. Gradually add flour to the egg mass, each time mixing well with a whisk. You should get a homogeneous dough, in density, like a pancake.
  9. In a frying pan, pre-heat the sunflower refined oil.
  10. Dip cabbage envelopes in batter and put in a frying pan.
  11. Fry over medium heat, under the lid, until golden brown: about 3 minutes on each side.
  12. Serve ready-made envelopes from cabbage with any sour cream sauce.
