- 1/2 cup (250 ml/8 fl oz) plain yogurt
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- a garlic clove, mashed and chopped
- 2-3 tbsp finely chopped mint
- Stir together the plain yoghurt , lemon juice, salt, ground cumin, sugar, mashed and chopped garlic clove and the finely chopped mint.
- Leave to stand for at least 30 minutes, then use some to marinate beef or lamb, and the rest as a sauce over the barbecued meat.
