Thanksgiving Oven Roast Turkey


  • 1 Whole Butterball Turkey (12 lbs)
  • 2 Step Turkey Brine and Rub Combo
  • 2 Butter Sticks (1 cup butter)
  • Fresh Rosemary Stems
  • 3 Lemons, cut in half
  • Salt
  • Garlic (optional)

For Garnishing

  • Peeled Garlic
  • Peeled Pearl Onions
  • Carrots
  • Lemon halves or wedges
  • Fresh Rosemary Stems

Cooking Process

  1. Start by cleaning up your turkey. Remove and discard any additional
    parts placed inside the turkey.
  2. Take lemon halves and scrub the turkey all over. I brined my turkey for
    only 2 hours to add some flavor. You can brine for 24 hours. Follow
    package instructions.
  3. Remove from brine and pat the turkey dry. Insert pieces of butter
    underneath the turkey’s skin in the breast and thigh areas.
  4. Stuff turkey with lemon halves, garlic and rosemary then tie the turkeys
    thighs together.
  5. In a bowl mixed the butter, salt and turkey rub spices
    together to form a spreadable paste. (Best if butter is heated for 10-15 seconds).
  6. Apply the buttery paste all over the turkey and then place the turkey on
    a turkey grilling rack pan. Throw into the pan your optional items.
  7. Place turkey in a preheated 325 degree oven for 3-3.5 hours. Time varies per turkey size.
  8. Follow Instructions on the turkey wrap. Every hour
    open the oven and brush the turkey with the butter paste to keep it moist.
  9. Garnish your turkey dish all around its sides and lay turkey right in the
    Serve with Sweet Potato Mash and Sautéed Green Beans.
